Game 12 - Alexandria at East, Round 2 (19 November)

Alexandria 45, East 14 - The Valley Cubs used a strong running game featuring Chris Evans and Derrick Kirby to defeat the Indians in the second round of the state play-offs. Evans scored two touchdowns late in the first quarter on runs of 68 and 11 yards. Chris Welch and Kirby added touchdowns in the second quarter, and Jordan Warren kicked a 42 yard field goal with 9 seconds left to give the Valley Cubs a 31-0 halftime lead. Warren was also 6 for 6 on PATs in the game. Late in the third quarter, the Indians finally got on the board with a 45 yard run by Chad Dewitt. Evans added two more touchdowns in the fourth on runs of 6 and 30 yards. Dewitt passed 19 yards to Marchas Glover for the Indians final score. Nathan Durham kicked both PATs for the Indians. The Indian finish the season with a 10-2 record. This is a great comeback after last season's disappointing 5-5 record. Thanks to a great group of Senior Players and Cheerleaders that we have watched over the years: Chasity Barksdale, Katie Bivens, Jarrod Bowling, Dustin Coffield, Will Crafts, Nathan Durham, Marquez Fletcher, Eric Frogge, Lauren Gullatt, Bethany Nye, Jaimee Stogner, Kelly Tisdale, and Stevie Winton. We will miss seeing you on the football field.
