Game 6 - Ardmore at East (8 October)

East 24, Ardmore 21 - In a renewal of an old rivalry, the Indians scored on a 51 yard pass from Chad Dewitt to Brad Hill with 2:44 left to defeat the Ardmore Tigers in a Region 7 contest. The win is Coach Cavnar's 100th during his tenure at East Limestone. The Indians got on the board first on a 5-play, 44-yard drive midway through the first quarter. Kelly Tisdale scored from 9 yards out, and a missed PAT gave the Indians a 6-0 lead. The Tigers answered with a time-consuming 14-play, 64-yard drive to take the lead early in the second quarter. Brent Thurman scored from 3 yards out, and Kennedy Saetang added his first of 3 PATs. The Indians next drive covered 56 yards, and resulted in a 26 yard field goal by Nathan Durham. The Indians 9-7 lead would hold until halftime. Early in the third quarter, Craig Van Pamel blocked a Tiger punt to put the Indians in business at the Tiger 22. Two plays later, Marchas Glover ran 15 yards for a score. Durham's PAT gave the Indians a 16-7 lead. The Tigers responded with a time-consuming 14-play, 73-yard drive to close the gap to 16-14. Cole Travis passed 12 yards to Michael Allen for the score. On the ensuing drive, the Indians drove to the Ardmore 4, but turned it over on a fumble. The Tigers used a 12-play, 92-yard drive to take a 21-16 lead with 4:49 left. Danny Glover scored from 3 yards out. The stage was now set for the Indian comeback. Ardmore (4-2) hosts North Jackson (5-1) next week, while East Limestone (6-0) travels to Fairview (0-6).
