Game 7 - East at Boaz (10 October)

Boaz 35, East 14 - The Indians fell to the Boaz Pirates 35-14 in a key Region 7 game. The Pirates dented the scoreboard first on Morgan's one yard run. Morgan also added the PAT. The drive covered 51 yards in 9 plays. The Indians answered with a 4 play, 87 yard drive, scoring on Evan Whiteside's 71 yard pass to Jacquez Pride. Keith Southard's PAT evened the score at 7-7. Boaz regained the lead on the next possession when A. J. Milwee ran 55 yards. The Indians took the kickoff and drove to the Pirate 34, but turned it over on an interception. The Indian defense forced a punt, and the offense took over on the Indian 18. On the first play, Pride raced 82 yards, and Southard's PAT evened the score again. Boaz regained the lead with 1:31 left in the half on Morgan's 48 yard run. The PAT was blocked. The Indians took the kickoff and drove to the Pirate 38, but the Pirates intercepted a pass and ran out the clock for a 20-14 lead. Both defenses played well to start the second half, but the Pirates gained field advantage with a punt return to the Indian 33 to start their third possession. Milwee ran 33 yards and passed to #19 for the 2-point conversion to put the Pirates ahead 28-14. On the Indians' next possession, Milwee intercepted a pass and returned it 42 yards for another score. Morgan's PAT capped the scoring at 35-14 with 2:33 left in the third quarter. The Indians kept the ball most of the fourth quarter, driving from their own 15 to the Pirate 4. The Indians turned the ball over on downs, and the Pirates ran out the clock. The Indians' record falls to 4-3 Overall and 2-3 in Region 7. The Fairview Aggies visit East Limestone next week.
