Game 4 - Guntersville at East (19 September)

Guntersville 23, East 21 - A fourth quarter rally fell just short as the Indians suffered their first loss of the season. The Guntersville Wildcats avenged last year's 9-7 loss with a 23-21 Region 7 win. The Wildcats scored first on a halfback pass from Justin Young to Glenn Fennell that covered 65 yards. The Indians responded with an Evan Whiteside to Quentin Hill pass for 56 yards. Keith Southard's PAT tied the game. Late in the second quarter, the Wildcats got on the board again when Taylor Walker hit Fennell for a 6 yard score. The Wildcats carried a 14-7 advantage into the locker room. The Wildcats extended the lead in the third quarter on a 19 yard field goal by Lance Handrich. Early in the fourth quarter, Walker connected with Fennell again for 95 yards to stretch the lead to 23-7. The Indians closed the gap when Whiteside hit Jacquez Pride for 19 yards. Southard's PAT made it 23-14 with 7:48 left. On the Wildcat's next possession, the Indian defense held and forced a punt. The Indians went for the block, and Josh Millimaki and Chase Bennett applied the pressure. Millimaki blocked the punt, and Nathan Durham returned it 6 yards for a score. Southard's PAT closed the gap to 23-21 with 5:56 left. The Indians had one last opportunity, but turned it over on downs.
