Game 3 - Douglas at East (12 September)

East 58, Douglas 8 - The Indians remained undefeated with a 58-8 win over the Douglas Eagles. The win sets up a key Region 7 game next week when the Guntersville Wildcats come calling. Jacquez Pride scored from 4 yards out to put the Indians on the board midway through the first quarter. The score was set up by Pride's 53 yard run. Keith Southard's PAT gave the Indians a 7-0 lead. After Quentin Hill returned a punt 20 yards, Kelly Tisdale's 53 yard run and Southard's PAT extended the lead to 14-0. On the ensuing kickoff, Stevie Winton recovered a fumble to put the Indians in business again. Hill scored from 41 yards out, and Southard's PAT gave the Indians a 21-0 lead. Early in the second quarter, Hill scored again on a 27 yard pass from Evan Whiteside, and Southard added the PAT. Pride scored the last two touchdowns in the half on runs of 12 and 4 yards to give the Indians a comfortable 41-0 lead. Early in the third quarter, Pride scored his fourth touchdown of the night from 36 yards out. Southard's PAT extended the lead to 48-0. Southard added his first field goal of the season later in the quarter. Douglas got on the board midway in the fourth quarter on a 38 yard run and two point conversion. Chad Dewitt rounded out the scoring with a 12 yard run, and Southard added his 7th PAT of the night.
