Game 8 - East at Fairview

East 63, Fairview 0 - The East Limestone Indians rolled to a convincing win over the Fairview Aggies, setting up a showdown for the Region 7 title next Friday with the North Jackson Chiefs. Antwan James scored five touchdowns in the first half to lead the Indians, while the Indian defense pitched its second shutout of the season. After a Fairview punt, the Indians' first possession began at the Aggie 47. The Indians scored in 4 plays, with James covering the final 38 yards. Keith Southard kicked the PAT to give the Indians a 7-0 lead. Southard was a perfect 9 for 9 in the PAT department. The Indians' second drive took one play, with James scoring on a 58 yard pass from Evan Whiteside for a 14-0 lead. After the kickoff, the Aggies drove into Indian territory, but Raleigh Hill scooped up a fumble, and returned it to the Aggie 48. The Indians drove to the Aggie one yard line as the quarter ended. On the first play of the second quarter, James scored on a 1 yard run to give the Indians a 21-0 lead. James scored twice more in the quarter on runs of 38 and 13 yards to extend the lead to 35-0 at the half. The Indians received the second half kickoff and scored in two plays. Marquez Pride covered the final 42 yards to give the Indians a 42-0 lead. The Aggies took the ensuing kickoff and drove deep into Indian territory. On fourth down, Sean Darby intercepted a pass and returned it 80 yards for a score and a 49-0 lead midway through the quarter. At the end of the quarter, Jacquez Pride scored on an 81 yard run to put the Indians up 56-0. In the fourth quarter, Quentin Hill closed out the scoring with a 1 yard sneak. East hosts North Jackson next Friday, while Fairview hosts Guntersville.
