East 49, Madison County 6 - In the first quarter, the visiting Madison County Tigers gave the host Indians all they could handle, but four second quarter fumbles by the Tigers turned into three touchdowns for the Indians. Antwan James scored first for the Indians on a two yard run with 7:26 left in the first quarter. The Indians added four touchdowns in the second quarter for a 35-0 halftime lead. Quarterback Evan Whiteside ran 21 yards for a score, and James raced 57 yards for his second touchdown. Byron Dubose scored the last two touchdowns of the half, the first on a 28 yard pass from Whiteside, and the second on a 19 yard fumble return. In the third quarter, Whiteside passed 25 yards to senior Jonathan Hill for a 42-0 lead. James scored his third touchdown of the night on a 52 yard run to push the lead to 49-0. Eric O'Neill got the Tigers' on the board in the fourth quarter on a 6 yard run. Keith Southard kicked 3 of 4 PATS. East travels to Douglas next Friday in a Region 7 contest. Madison County hosts North Jackson.
