Game 6: East 6, Madison Academy 4 (9) (Preseason Tour.)
Colby Sneed brought home the go-ahead run to give East Limestone the lead in the ninth inning, as East Limestone hung on to beat Madison Academy 6-4 on Monday in the Athens-East Limestone Preseason Tournament. Mark Boersma singled to start the ninth. He then went from first to second on a single by Caleb Roberts. Finally, Sneed came to the plate with the score tied at four in the ninth inning, and doubled, plating Boersma and Roberts. Ben Rhodes led East Limestone's offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. Rhodes singled in the first, second, and sixth innings. Ian Rice had a double and a single for Madison Academy. Matthew Franks pitched into the sixth inning for the Indians. Ashmore threw the final 1 1/3 innings of scoreless ball for East Limestone.

Game 9: East 5, Austin 4 (11)

East Limestone outlasted Austin at Austin 5-4 on Friday after 11 innings. With the score tied at four, Mark Boersma came to the plate and singled, scoring Ben Rhodes. The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game. Hunter Reece had a sound game at the plate for East Limestone. Reece went 2-4 and scored two runs. Reece singled in the second inning and doubled in the ninth inning. Scott Glass got on base three times in the game for Austin. He scored one run and had one RBI. Glass singled in the fourth and ninth innings. Chase Pendley worked out of seven tough spots for Austin. He pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run on three hits. Pendley faced his most difficult moment in the ninth inning. Caleb Roberts was superb in relief, pitching three scoreless innings while collecting six strikeouts and allowing no walks and one hit. Tanner Russell showed good command, as he threw strikes on 68 of his 112 pitches. Russell struck out six and walked three for East Limestone after pitching the first eight innings.

Game 10: East 14, Madison Co. 4

An eight-run explosion in the second inning led East Limestone (5-5) to a 14-4 win in five innings over Madison Co. at Madison Co. on Saturday. Drew Kennedy racked up five RBIs on two hits for East Limestone. Kennedy doubled in the first and second innings. Matthew Franks showed good command, as he threw strikes on 55 of his 81 pitches. Franks collected seven strike outs and walked one for East Limestone. The game was never in doubt after the first, as East Limestone scored three runs on a two-run double by Kennedy and a wild pitch.

Game 11: East 10, Ardmore 8

The bats were busy at Madison Co. on Sunday, and when the dust cleared, East Limestone (6-5) had a 10-8 win over Ardmore in seven innings. There were 20 hits, including four extra base hits in the game. Ben Rhodes racked up two RBIs on three hits for East Limestone. Rhodes singled in the first, second, and fifth innings. Cody Reed racked up four RBIs on four hits for Ardmore. Reed homered in the third inning and singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings. Cameron Ashmore threw one inning of scoreless ball for East Limestone.

Game 12: Sparkman  15, East 5

East Limestone lost the first game of a doubleheader 15-5 to Sparkman on Tuesday at Sparkman, despite a total of seven hits. Cameron Ashmore did his best to jumpstart the offense for East Limestone, reaching base three times. Will Martin had two extra-base hits for Sparkman. Martin tripled in the fourth inning and doubled in the fifth inning. Sparkman was sparked by Justin Gilliam and Adam Lau, who teamed up for four hits and five RBIs.

Game 13: East 4, Sparkman 3

Colby Sneed drove in the go-ahead run to give East Limestone the lead in the sixth inning, as East Limestone hung on to beat Sparkman 4-3 in the nightcap. Mark Boersma singled to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a passed ball. Finally, Sneed came to the plate with the score tied at three in the sixth inning, and, bringing home Boersma. Sparkman's pitchers couldn't stop Drew Kennedy at the plate. Kennedy went 3-4 and drove in one. Kennedy singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings. Tanner Russell kept Sparkman off the base paths, recording eight strikeouts. East Limestone's pitcher allowed no earned runs on two hits and no walks over seven innings.

Game 14: East 8, Scottsville-Allen, KY 4

East Limestone outlasted Scottsville-Allen County-Ky on Saturday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 8-4 win at Athens. East Limestone pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning. Clay Turner racked up three RBIs on three hits for East Limestone. Turner doubled in the first and fifth innings and singled in the sixth inning. Caleb Roberts baffled Scottsville-Allen County-Ky, striking out eight batters. East Limestone's pitcher allowed two earned runs, eight hits and one walk over seven innings. The top of the first saw East Limestone take an early lead, 3-0. A double by Turner, plating Cameron Ashmore started the inning off. East Limestone then tacked on more runs when Boersma scored on an RBI single by Drew Kennedy and Turner scored on a sacrifice fly by Roberts. East Limestone went up for good in the fifth scoring two total runs, which came home on an RBI double by Turner.

Game 15: Hazel Green 6, East 2

Hazel Green outlasted East Limestone in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday after four lead changes, squeaking out a 6-2 win at Athens. Hazel Green pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. Hazel Green went up for good on a two-run double by Austin Bassler off Matthew Franks, scoring Nathan Weaver and Dalton Davis. Tanner Russell kept Hazel Green off balance while he was on the mound pitching out of a bases loaded jam in the 5th. Hazel Green managed just one hit off of Russell, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his two innings of work. Weaver worked out of three tough situations for Hazel Green. He pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run on six hits. Weaver faced his toughest moment in the fourth inning. Franks struck out six and walked two for East Limestone in 5 and 1/3 innings of work.

Game 16: East 10, Columbia 9 (8)

East Limestone (9-7, 1-0) defeated Columbia 10-9 in 8 innings on Tuesday. The teams combined for 22 hits, including six extra base hits. East Limestone scored three runs in the first inning to jump ahead of Columbia early. Cameron Ashmore helped East Limestone pull ahead for good in the eighth inning. With the score tied at eight, Ashmore came to the plate and singled in the go ahead run. Thomas McMurry racked up three RBIs on two hits for Columbia. McMurry homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning. Sam Pasker had a double and two singles. Dustin Tidwell had a 2 RBI double in the seventh inning to help Columbia put the game into extra innings. East Limestone's Ashmore, Clay Turner and Tanner Russell combined for five hits and six RBIs. Matthew Franks also added a 2 RBI double. Both teams complete area play against one another with a double header tomorrow.

Game 17: East 10, Columbia 0

An ace performance by Caleb Roberts lifted East Limestone (10-7, 2-0) to an 10-0 win in six innings over Columbia. Roberts pitched six innings of shutout ball, allowing two hits and striking out 11. He also added a triple at the plate. East Limestone blew out Columbia thanks to 13 hits. Mark Boersma racked up two RBIs on three hits for East Limestone. Cameron Ashmore and Clay Turner each had a pair of hits.

Game 18: East 13, Columbia 5

A seven-run explosion in the fifth inning hoisted East Limestone (11-7, 3-0) to a 13-5 win in the second game of a doubleheader. Clay Turner, Tanner Russell, Cal Sandlin, and Mark Boersma each had a double and a single. Matthew Franks had a pair of singles. Drew Kennedy hit a 2-run HR to put the game out of reach for the Indians.

Game 19: Charles Henderson 4, East 2

East Limestone (11-8) jumped out to an early lead, but was unable to hold the lead and lost 4-2 to CHHS on Saturday in the first game of a doubleheader played at Troy University. East Limestone jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the third. Cal Sandlin started the rally for East Limestone with a double. A bunt single by Colby Sneed moved Sandlin from second to third. A sacrifice bunt by Hunter Reece scored Sandlin. East Limestone tacked on another run when a double by Ben Rhodes scored Seth Fowler from second. Tanner Russell pitched into the sixth inning striking out 4 before a CHHS rally scored 3 runs forcing him out of the game.

Game 20: Wicksburg 5, East 3

East Limestone (11-9) lost the second game of a doubleheader in Troy 5-3 to Wicksburg. Wickburg got its bats going early, scoring three runs in the first inning to pull ahead of East Limestone. East Limestone scored three runs in the third beginning with a sacrifice fly by Cameron Ashmore, but left runners stranded thru out the remainder of the game. Colby Sneed went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for East Limestone. Sneed singled in the third, fourth, and sixth innings. Hunter Reece had a double and a single. Cal Sandlin added a pair of hits. Ben Rhodes struck out six and walked two for East Limestone. Peyton Moran was superb in relief, pitching 2 1/3 scoreless innings while collecting three strikeouts and allowing no walks and one hit. East Limestone plays next week in the Gulf Coast Classic in Gulf Shores.

Game 21: Prattville 6, East 3 (Gulf Shores Tour.)

East Limestone lost to Prattville 6-3 in action Monday in Gulf Shores. East was held scoreless thru 5 innings, but a late rally came up short for the Indians. Austin Haataja led East Limestone at the plate with a pair of hits. Hunter Waites and Tanner Russell each had a double. Caleb Roberts threw 5 2/3 innings for the Indians striking out 4. Roberts got out of bases loaded jams in the first and second innings.

Game 22: Enterprise 22, East 10 (Gulf Shores Tour.)

Eight hits weren't enough for East Limestone as it lost 22-10 in five innings to Enterprise on Tuesday at Robertsdale. The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to eight lead changes in the game. Enterprise put the game away due to a fourth inning when they score 12 runs. Hunter Reece had a pair of hits for the Indians. Ben Rhodes, Hunter Waites, Caleb Newby, Matt Franks, Cal Sandlin, and Caleb Roberts each had a hit.

Game 23: Robertsdale 6, East 1 (Gulf Shores Tour.)

East Limestone lost 6-1 at Robertsdale on Tuesday. Hunter Reece, Caleb Roberts, and Brick Pugh each had a hit during the game. Matthew Franks pitched six innings, but the Indians could not generate enough offense to keep pace with Robertsdale.

Game 24: Fairhope 16, East 3 (Gulf Shores Tour.)

East Limestone fell 16-3 to Fairhope at Robertsdale on Wednesday. Tanner Russell racked up two RBIs with East Limestone's only hit. Russell doubled in the first inning.

Game 25: East 10, Johnson 0

East Limestone (12-13, 3-0) defeated JO Johnson 10-0 on Tuesday taking advantage of a seven-run rally in the third inning. Caleb Roberts came up one batter shy of a perfect game when he gave up a double to Johnson's Marquis Battles in the fourth inning. Roberts allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six during his five innings of work. Mark Boersma, Clay Turner, and Matt Franks each had a pair of hits for the Indians. Ben Rhodes, Hunter Reece, and Cal Sandlin each had a hit for the Indians.

Game 26: East 14, Johnson 4

East Limestone defeated JO Johnson 14-4 on Thursday, scoring nine runs in the first inning. Hunter Reece had three infield hits for East Limestone. Ben Rhodes and Clay Turner each had a pair of hits. Matthew Franks got the win for East Limestone. He allowed four runs over 5 innings. The East Limestone pitcher struck out seven, walked four and surrendered six hits.

Game 27: East 9, McAdory 4

East Limestone (14-13) defeated McAdory 9-4 in seven innings at McCalla on Saturday. Clay Turner had two extra base hits, homering in the second inning and doubling in the sixth inning. Mark Boersma and Hunter Reece had a double and a single. Matt Franks added a pair of hits. Caleb Roberts allowed one run over two innings. The East Limestone pitcher struck out four, walked two and surrendered two hits. Peyton Moran was superb in relief, pitching two scoreless innings while collecting one strikeout and allowing three walks and one hit. Tanner Russell threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless ball for East Limestone. The game was never in doubt after the first, as East Limestone scored four runs aided by two-run home run by Cal Sandlin. East Limestone piled on four more runs in the top of the second. Turner started the inning with a three-run home run, bringing home Hunter Reece and Ben Rhodes. That was followed up by Mark Boersma's double, scoring Kennedy.

Game 28: East 2, Lee 0

East Limestone (15-13, 5-0) remained undefeated in area play by blanking Lee 2-0 on Tuesday. A pitcher's duel saw Caleb Roberts go the distance and pick up the win for the Indians. He struck out 7. East Limestone put runs across in the fifth and sixth innings to secure the win. Hunter Reece led the Indians at the plate with a double and a single. Drew Kennedy and Matthew Franks each had a single.

Game 29: East 5, Lee 3

East Limestone (16-13, 6-0) clinched the 5A Area 15 title on Thursday defeating Lee 5-3 at Joe Davis stadium. Hunter Reece racked up two RBIs on one hit for East Limestone. He singled in the fifth inning. Mark Boersma and Colby Sneed each had a double. Tanner Russell's eight strikeouts helped East Limestone to the victory. Russell allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk over seven innings.

Game 30: Lee 11, East 3

East Limestone lost the nightcap 11-3 to Lee on Thursday at Joe Davis. Drew Kennedy had a double and a single for the Indians. Caleb Roberts added a double.

Game 31: East 3

East Limestone (17-14) defeated Decatur 13-5 Saturday behind an offensive explosion from Tanner Russell. Russell hit two home runs and a double driving in a total of 5 runs. Hunter Reece and Matt Franks each added 3 singles. Caleb Roberts and Ben Rhodes both had a pair of singles. Caleb Roberts recorded the win for East Limestone. He allowed one run over three innings. The East Limestone pitcher struck out five, walked one and surrendered three hits. Franks also struck out 5 over the last four innings of work. William Waller had 3 hits for Decatur. Camp Metcalf had a triple and a single.
